Randomness...

I had to try a few different passwords to get on here tonight...yes it's been that long. I don't even know what to write about but I was out tonight with a few ladies and we were talking about our kids of course. Seems since I've become a mother that is all I have to talk about. But it got me thinking about a few things that have been happening around here lately. And so here I go talking about my kids.

Zara has been playing meeting A LOT...its pretty much all we do when we are home. We sing 'Call me the Jesus' which is hymn #1 and then we go right to speaking...she usually speaks about whichever book she grabbed to be her bible and about going shopping and going to Islay's house. She spends most of the time in the bathroom with her baby because it is usually 'talking and talking'. Meeting promptly ends when she says its over and we shake hands and have a good old chat....usually about her baby.

Kanya had her first birthday this month and is still a pretty mellow little girl. Her new thing to do is shake her head 'no' when we try to feed her and then giggles. A funny joke apparently.

I had a embarrassing moment happen to me a couple days ago while we were in the checkout line at Wal-Mart. Zara had wondered off to the pop cooler and was opening the door and grabbing all the pop. I told her a couple times to come back to the cart because we were next in line. Of course she didn't listen so I was frustrated and marched over there and as I'm walking over she starts crying and yelling "No Mom, don't give me a spanking. I don't want a spanking" and continued on in this matter with a look of terror in her eyes. And did I mention she was yelling this? It felt like everyone around me was staring and wondering if they should be reporting me. I just pretended that I didn't know what she was talking about and immediately left the store.

A little while ago I had put Zara down for her nap and told her that she HAD to stay in bed or she would be in trouble. I was downstairs and heard her shouting for me. I just ignored her because she usually just comes out of bed if something is wrong but she continued on and was getting a little more frantic so I was pretty mad and ran upstairs to get her to stop yelling and when I get into her room she says to me...still yelling might I add "MOM, THERE'S POO COMING OUT MY BOTTOM". Oh was my response and instantly became so proud of her for telling me she had to go to the washroom that I didn't even get mad about all the yelling and carrying on. Its amazing how life changes for you when you become a Mom.

On a different note...not even child related. We are getting new carpet..YAY!! Good-bye old dusty rose carpet. You will be gone and hopefully forgotten. It was the first thing we were going to change when we moved into this house but 2 years later we still have it, stained and all. I look forward to day when I can smell that wonderful new carpet smell.
